Nerts is an energetic card game for 2-12 players that combines elements of Solitaire and Speed. To play, you need one deck of cards per player. The goal is to be the first to get rid of your Nerts pile.
- Setup: Each player shuffles their deck and deals 13 cards into a face-down Nerts pile with one card face-up on top.
- Gameplay: Players simultaneously use their own deck to create Solitaire-like piles. They can build down in alternating colors or move cards to shared foundation piles in ascending order by suit.
- Winning: The first player to empty their Nerts pile yells “Nerts!” The round ends, and scores are tallied: +1 for each card in the foundation and -2 for each card left in the Nerts pile. The first to reach a predetermined score wins the game.
