Setup
- Each player needs their own deck of 52 cards with different backs.
- Shuffle thoroughly before starting.
Objective
- The goal is to get rid of your Nertz pile faster than your opponents.
Gameplay
- Deal 13 cards into a Nertz pile.
- Flip the top card face up, and place the remaining cards as your stock pile.
- Play cards from your Nertz pile or stock onto shared foundation piles in ascending order starting from Ace.
- Once someone runs out of their Nertz pile, they shout “Nertz!” to end the round.
Scoring
- Count the cards you played in foundation piles.
- Subtract twice the number of cards left in your Nertz pile.
- First player to reach an agreed-upon score wins!
