Spit, also known as Slam or Speed, is a fast-paced card game for two players requiring quick reflexes and concentration. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to play:

  • Each player gets 26 cards.
  • Players lay out five piles in front of them:
    • 1st pile: 1 card face-up
    • 2nd pile: 1 card face-down, 1 card face-up
    • 3rd pile: 2 cards face-down, 1 card face-up
    • 4th pile: 3 cards face-down, 1 card face-up
    • 5th pile: 4 cards face-down, 1 card face-up

  • Both players flip over the top cards of their stockpile into the center.
  • Players simultaneously place cards from their tableau onto the center piles in ascending or descending order, regardless of suit.
  • If neither player can move, each flips another card from their stockpile to the center.

  • The first player to deplete their tableau shouts “Spit.”
  • They then try to slap the smaller center pile first.
  • The game continues until one player has no cards left to play.

With these rules, you’re ready to enjoy Spit! Practice your speed and strategy for an edge in this exciting game.
